Konrad Skolarski was born in 1980 into a family of musicians and began to take piano lessons at the age of 4, under the tutelage of Prof. Marek Mizera (he studied with Lazar Berman). From 1995-1998 he studied in the class of Professor Janusz Olejniczak, the laureate of Frederick Chopin Competition in Warsaw (1970).

When he was 9 years old he performed Bach’s Piano Concerto in F minor with the well known Concerto Avenna ensemble and afterwards performed many times as a young pianist at the Warsaw Philharmonic in the cycle of Sunday concerts for young audiences. At the age of 13 he became a laureate of the Professor Stefański Competition for young pianists and was noticed by Professor Halina Czerny-Stefańska, who awarded him 2nd prize. In 1997 he took part in the Pianist of Tomorrow International Master Class in Hamamatsu (Japan) organized by the Japan Music Foundation and Hiroko Nakamura. Of the 25 pianists invited to attend he was the youngest and the only one from Europe. He perfected his skills at master classes with such famous artists as Alexander Jenner, Sergio Perticarolli, Hiroko Nakamura, Oxana Yablonskaya and Vladimir Krainev.

In 2001 he won first prize in the Tchaikovsky Competition in Huesca (Spain) and 2002 he recorded his debut CD for Universal Music with music of F. Chopin, F. Liszt, S. Rachmaninov and S. Prokofiev. He studied in Music Academy in Wroclaw in the class of Prof. Olga Rusina (Moscow Conservatory, class J. Milstein and S. Dorensky), then Frederick Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw in the class of Prof. Alicja Paleta – Bugaj.

He is currently a postgraduate student in the class of Prof. Pavel Gililov in the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne (Germany). So far he has played in Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, Serbia, Belgium, Switzerland, Great Britain and Japan. In 2009 he played at the most prestigious piano festival Klavier Festival Ruhr in Germany and also took part in the Leeds Piano Competition. Currently he is in negotiations with Polish Radio about the project of his new CD of S. Prokofiev Piano Concerto No.2 and S. Rachmaninov – Piano Concerto No.2 with Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
