Safronova was born in the Ukraine and studied at the Gnesin College of
Music in Moscow and later at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory under Prof.
Irina Maslennikova. In 1996 Victoria received second prize at the Zimin
International Vocal Competition in the Boloshoi Theatre. From 1996-99
she was a soloist at the Stanislavsky-Nemirovitch-Danchenko Theatre in
Moscow where her roles included the title roles in Massanet’s Thais and Bizet’s Carmen, Elvira in Ernani, and Musetta in La Boheme.
In 1999 Victoria moved to Israel and in 2000 she won
third prize in the Hilde Zadek International Competition in Germany.
The following year she represented Israel at the BBC Cardiff Singer of
the World Competition and went on to take part in the Bavarian State
Opera Young Artists Programme. She has performed at many leading opera
houses including in Moscow, Tel-Aviv, Dortmund and Münster. Since 2004
Victoria has been a soloist at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein where she has
sung roles such as Tatyana Evgeny Onegin, Leonora La Forza del Destino, Amelia Un Ballo in Maschera and Donna Anna Don Giovanni. Victoria has also been a regular soloist at New Israeli Opera in Tel-Aviv, singing roles such as Elisabeth Don Carlo, the Princess in Rusalka and the title role in Ariadne auf Naxos. In the 2007/8 season she will sing Fata Morgana The Love of Three Oranges, Donna Anna Don Giovanni, Amelia Un Ballo in Maschera and Musetta La Boheme for Deutsche Oper am Rhein, as well as Leonora La Forza del Destino and her debut in the title role of La Giocanda for New Israeli Opera.
