Beginning the year with a role debut as Banquo Macbeth (Mid Wales Opera) he then makes his role and venue debut performing the role of Jacopo Loredano I Due Foscari in concert at Cadogan Hall (Chelsea Opera Group), Edinburgh Festival performances of Oedipus Rex in the role of the Messenger (Scottish Opera), before covering the role of Zuniga Carmen (Glyndebourne). This Autumn and again in the Spring, Emyr makes his professional debut in a much-loved role; Papageno The Magic Flute (Opera North).
In 2023 he performed and covered the role of Basilio The Barber of Seville (Scottish Opera), having performed Dulcamara L’Elisir D’Amore (Longborough Festival Opera), Lorek Fedora, Bertrand Iolanta, and White Knight Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (IF Opera) and covered the role of Aye Akhnaten (English National Opera).
He has previously worked with Opera North, Wexford Festival, Scottish Opera, Grange Park Opera, and a summer in Sicily with the Mediterranean Opera Festival. Roles have included Figaro/Le Nozze do Figaro, Colline/La Bohème, Papageno/The Magic Flute, and Leporello/Don Giovanni.
Born and raised in Aberdare in the South Wales Valleys,
