London-based Ukrainian soprano Inna Husieva currently a Scottish Opera Emerging Artist 2023-24.

She is alumnus of the National Opera Studio, during which time she performed on the stages of English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Cadogan Hall, Scottish Opera and Opera North.

In April 2022, Inna was invited by Glyndebourne to sing at the ‘Concert for Ukraine’ with the LPO conducted by Robin Ticciati. Since then, Inna has also appeared frequently on various concert stages in UK such as the Wigmore Hall, LSO St Luke’s, Buxton Opera House, St Alban’s Abbey and King’s Place.

During the 2 years of her life in UK, Inna has established herself as one of the most promising young sopranos. During this time, she became a prize-winner in the singing competition DEBUT in Germany (2022) and the Elizabeth Connell Prize Competition in London (2023).

In the season 2022-23 she made her debut at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl in Austria as Seraph in Beethoven’s oratorio “Christ on the Mount of Olives” conducted by Erik Nielsen.

Furthermore, Inna has worked as a soloist for Opera Rara, Il Gusto Barocco (Stuttgart), Wurzburg Orchestra, Barrandov Opera, Two Moors Festival and Opera North. Inna also recorded a fundraising single which was released on the Signum Records label, composed by King's Coronation composer Roxanna Panufnik, the lullaby ‘Sleep, Jesus, Sleep’ (Спи, Ісусе, спи).

Inna began her vocal training at the Donetsk College of Music and then completed her musical education at the National Music Academy of Ukraine in Kyiv under the tutelage of Prof. Evdokia Kolesnik.

This December she sang at the Christmas Carol Concert in the Royal Military Chapel (The Guards’ Chapel) in London.

Performed Operatic roles include: Pamina The Magic Flute, Galatea Acis and Galatea, Euridice\Cupid Orfeo, Frasquita/Micaela Carmen, Dido Dido and Aeneas, Iolanta Iolanta, Silvana A flourish of Green (2013).

This Season at Scottish Opera, Inna is appearing in “The Barber of Seville” as Berta, in “Hansel & Gretel” as The Dew Fairy/The Sandman, in “Daphne” as a Second Maid, in the Spring Opera Highlights tour and as Violetta Valéry in “La Traviata” performing in the Access Performances in Glasgow and Edinburgh (also covering Violetta for the whole production).

Future engagements include the role of Alcina in “Alcina’s Island” by Giuseppe Gazzaniga at the Bampton Classical Opera production and the cover for the role of Helena in Mark-Anthony’s Turnage “Festen” at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.
