Satriya Krisna, an Indonesian tenor based in Leeds, UK, is celebrated for his warm lyrical and robust velvet tone. He has performed at prestigious venues including the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, Dutch National Opera, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, and Opera North.

Initially pursuing a degree in architecture, Satriya's passion for music led him to the Amsterdam Conservatory, where he graduated summa cum laude under the tutelage of Henny Yana Diemer, earning his Music BA in 2015 and his Masters in 2017. He is also an alumnus of the National Opera Studio’s 2017/2018 Young Artists program in London.

He has demonstrated his versatility through a wide array of roles. As a BAME fellowship member of the English National Opera Chorus, he expanded his repertoire by covering roles such as the Peasant in "Luisa Miller" and the Gamekeeper in "Rusalka" during the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 seasons. His notable portrayals include Don Jose in Bizet/Brooks' "La Tragedie de Carmen" with Pop-Up Opera, Pinkerton in Puccini’s "Madama Butterfly", and Cavaradossi in Puccini’s "Tosca" for Diva Opera. He has also performed as Lensky in Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin" with Garsington Opera and Don Jose in Bizet’s "Carmen" with both Longborough Opera and Opera North. Additionally, he has covered the roles of Nadir in Bizet’s "The Pearl Fishers" and Ruggero in Puccini’s "La Rondine," and performed as Ferrando in Mozart’s "Cosi Fan Tutte." Upcoming roles include The Armoured Man in Mozart's "The Magic Flute" for the 2024/2025 season and Pang in Puccini's "Turandot" with Cambridge Philharmonic in July 2024. During his studies, Satriya made his professional debut as Sporting Life in "Porgy and Bess" with Studio 32 and the Gelders Orkest, and performed with the Phillips Symphony Orchestra at the Grachtenfestival and the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. He has covered roles in various productions, including Moenen in Calliope Tsoupaki’s "Mariken in de Tuin der Lusten" with Opera2Day, and Lurcanio & Odoardo in Handel’s "Ariodante" with the Dutch National Opera.

Satriya has received numerous awards, including Third Prize, Audience Prize, and Student Jury Prize at the International Student Lied Duo Competition 2017 with duo pianist Felix Justin, and the Judges’ Discretionary Prize at Fulham Opera’s Robert Presley Memorial Verdi Prize 2017. Satriya received a full scholarship to attend the Verbier Festival Academy, where he performed in their opera productions and engaged in the Lied program with tutors including Thomas Hampson, Thomas Allen, and Thomas Quasthoff. He was a semi-finalist in the 51st International Voice Competition ’s-Hertogenbosch and is a bursary recipient from the Opera Awards Foundation 2018/2019. He is also a Samling Artist member and an alumnus of the Georg Solti Accademia.

Currently, he is developing his singing under the guidance of Richard Berkeley-Steele.
